the air was cold and clouds covered the moon as midnight the night kute soared in the air with a group of stray batea.

She breathed in and felt as if she could fly forever.

Something was strange tonight like something was crept up behind her ready to pounce .

Suddenly Midnight herd a creepy howl and flew another hundred feet ,her fur pressing against her body and her bat like wings reflecting the light of the moon.

Then the batea flew into a cave screeching with great sound.

" Goodbye" she sqweeked sad to see them go because they were the only ones who ever gave her company this late at night  ,most of the creatures would be sound asleep their  burrows and dens.

Midnight dive bombed rapidly through the air and  swooped in a large peachi tree where she began eating in a hurry ,she had to store up on calories before winter wrapped its icey claws around the forest she called home.

The fruit was juicy and sweet  .She was enjoying the meal but something felt wrong.

Midnights fur began to crawl as she felt watchful eyes gazing at her,"whose there!"she barked.

Pressure nocked against her chest like a heavy bolder.

'yowwwwllll"she yelped as something pushed her off the branch which sent her falling out of the tree.

She tried to flap upward but the weight was so great that her wings could not bear it, then with a hard sickening  thud she hit the leafy forest floor.

Darkness.

At first she thought that she must be dead.
Yet the familiar smell of the earthen forest floor made her sences come to life.
"ha! I nocked you out cold" a familiar voice cackled.                                                                                                                     'Choes you idiot!"Midnight hissed angerally ,"you scared me!"                                                                                                     "I know you should of seen your face !"choes grind showing his yellow front teeth.

'So midnight I haven't seen you in a while "choes said as he flew ,his wings stretched out wide ",you must stay towards the west of the forest." Uum , yah just getting ready for winter you know its only in a  moon." Midnight sighed trying to end the conversation."Well the sun is going to come up soon and I need to get back to the cave"he said ,"okay" she said happily ,glad to get away from the annoying furball.

After she said her goodbyes midnight headed to her cave the sun was just about  to come up before she curled up in the corner and fell asleep .                                      

 Midnight   ........darkness is coming "a dark figure said from the shadows "who are you!" midnight said her fur begining to prick with fear.

All of the elements will arise and darkness will seep through the core ..."the figure said walking closer.

Now midnight could see the things face it was a night kute just like her but with totally black eyes and dark black fur"all that you know is coming to and end"the figure said "what do you mean "she chocked out "you and the elements will meet in silver"said the figures chilling voice and before she could say anything more she wokeup.                                                                                                                                                                                    

Mist yawned as she stretched on a branch .

The sun was just coming up and the forest was begining to wake up for all the day creatures wear coming out of their dens.

Mist shivered as a gust of cold wind hit her feathery white wings,

Winter had come and with it cold weather which mist hated ,she much prefered warm sunny weather

but there was nothing she could do about it ,the only thing she could control was the clouds.

Mist jumped into the air spread her wings as far as she could about seven feet per wing and then swooped, soaring  high above the forest trees smelling the sweet pines.

Mist saw the  blue river and  she flapped harder .

Her body was made  for speed most of her wings pure muscal yet her head to her tail very light only weighing 3.7pounds.

She landed lightly her fluffy fur  tuching the ground and her bright blue eyes sparkling with the suns rays of light.

Mist saw small bushes across the river she had to get to them,

The blueb bushes were the only fruit that grew during the winter but they produced very little.

Bingo"mist shouted as she saw a lily pad float by ,she would just fly over the river but her wings were numbing from the cold and it hert to move them.

She jumped on  the biggest lily pad thinking that mayby she could grab a branch and pull herself on to the opposite bank.

 something felt weird about this lily pad it seemed hard on the bottom . "gyiiiiiiii"a sound came from under the lily pad,which made her jump and she fell under the water freezing her to the bone.

Mist thrashed up but the current was to strong pulling her under.

Mist..........darkness is coming "a low voice said coming from the shadows

"what does that mean !"she said panick rising in her throat yet she didnt know why.

A smoky sent filled the air and warmness came from a small fire.

When mist sat up she saw a blueish green figure and a white figure with flames boldly on top of its head and tail.

She smelt burnt fish in front of her face and herd a light soft voice say "shes awake moe"

Hello young cloud kute "she saw the fire kute say in a deep yet soft voice,"you fell into the river when you stepped on my head"the water kute  said licking her paw and rubbing it over her scaley head.

"My name is Moe "said the fire kute"and my name is Umi "said the water kute,"umm....hi Im mist" whisperd mist she had never seen their breed up close before.

So you must be part of the chosen ,It must be by fate that we found you"said umi"what do you mean"mist asked looking very confused.

Moe and Umi bolth exchanged glances" the dream.... the way you slept.... you kept repeating the darkness is coming"said Moe ,

suddenly it hit her she did have a dream about choking darkness and the elements meeting in silver.

"so you do know"umi said like she read her mind "this is silver"said Moe.

The moon hit the stone making it sparkle just like silver.

"Chu its so cold and are you sure that is the silver that your dream was talking about"said a small brown kute her eyes glinting with worry"yes Im positive its hard to explain I just can feel it in my back , just dont worry Chi."said Chu another small orenge kute.

"Okay  Chu  I if you believe it than I believe It after all isnt that what siblings are for?"smiled Chi her face still wary .

"We are all most there ,just across those tall grass!"barked Chu with a gleeful expression"no stop Chu it does not look safe ."whined Chi "Chi its ok there is nothing to be afraid of."soothed Chu "I am not afraid I am just being responsible !what did mother tell us!"Chi said licking her chest "I dont care what mother said I am a full grown kute and I can take care of my self, come on!"puffed Chu running into the grass"what have I gotten myself into now!" sighed Chi as she followed.

It was very dark in the tall grass light just showing to guide their way "I smell something stinky "hissed Chu and made a discusted face " I have a bad feeling about this Ch-ayheeeee "yelped Chi her eyes startled with fright.

"whats wrooong!!!!!!yowwwwwwl"yelped Chu as he felt something bite his tail turning around he saw exactly what it was . (not O-yinns) nnyyyat Ohh-yinnnnnss"choked out Chu running in circles yelping and hissing.

"What are weee going to dooooo!!!!"screached Chi!

(O-yinns are small onion shaped animals they have huge eyes and chompers that latch on ,they also have pores that produce toxic spores. )

It seemed like forever before the o-yinns finally let go ,the reason why they attacked was they had stepped on them while they were sleeping only there ruffled heads visible in the dirt and roots.

"My tail going to be soar for weeks and it is your fault !"moaned Chi licking her bent up tail ,"sorry "Chu mumbled sobbing over his own tail .

suddenly Chi sqweeked out"Chu look!!!",when Chu looked up he saw their destination right around the the bend"silver!"whispered Chu.

Brrrrrr"shivered Star  the star kute "yes"said feather the angel kute in a very calm blunt voice"its winter what do you expect ".

Well you don't have to be rude about it !"star hmped but her eyes were filled with admiration , Star and Feather had been friends when they were only little kits and  Star had always known him as brave and silent.

Feather what makes you think this is the right way to silver?"questioned Star with sparkling eyes"I just do..."he sighed" can you stop  talking ,every time you move you throw me off balance ..".Star froze obeying his orders they were two hundred feet in the air and didnt want him to drop her"sorry"she whispered keeping very still.

As Star lay on his back between his wings she felt his heart beats and touched his soft downy white feathers.

Suddenly Star felt him swoop downward his wings nine feet each trembling as the wind pushed against them.

Star held on even tighter clawing into his white fur"we are here "said Feather calmly "wow its so pretty...silver is!"cried Star her eyes filled with the light of the sparkling rock"I guess"said feather as he landed and walked under the rock.

"No Feather you don't know whats under there!" she squeaked, "come its okay, I promise" Feather said soothingly. It was almost hypnotizing. "Fine." sighed Star.

When she entered she saw light of a fire and she smelled fish in the air' hello you must be the last elements" said a soft yet deep voice.

Star saw a fire kute he was the one who was speaking and when she looked farther she saw many diffrent kutes "pleased to meet you"siad feather grinning "I am Moe the fire kute"said Moe he looked at Star with eyes bright "I am umi the water kute"said Umi calmly wisdom filled her eyes from many generations of experience  "I am Leaf the leaf kute"smiled a young leaf kute his fur still downy from kithood"Im Midnight the night kute"whispered the night kute shyly "I am Cristal the diamond kute" shiney stones jetting out of her head chest and tail it almost looked like armor"I am Mist the cloud kute " said Mist in a exited voice"I am lunar the moon kute"a glowing cresent on her head"I am shock the electric kute" barked a kit excitedly"we are Chu and Chi "chimed a brown and orenge kute"I am Feather and this is Star"said Feather cooly.

"I am sure you are all needing rest for most of you have I have not seen in this forest"mowed Feather "so we should all rest here for the night "he continued"mayby our dreams will reveal more"replied Umi smiling and then offered"does anyone want cooked fish?"

"your hearts will lead the elements to the battle , you will be the first but not the final hope"whispered the shadows "I dont understand what you mean...... where is the battle ground ?"demanded Moe his heart burning for answers "it is not all but your heart that battles darkness  ..you must choose the star of hope to lead the way"moaned the shadows.                                                                                                        The ground broke in like a great earth quake now and Moe fell down swirling in total darkness he vainly  calawed the air trying to feel some ground but all that was there was cold rushing air.

Out of no where a bright light appeared , before Moe knew it he was on warm grass and the moon and stars looking down upon him.

"What is happening!?" Moe thought he looked up in the sky and saw a burning star fall over a blue mountain just out of glimpse from the forest "the star of hope"cryed Moe.

Moe-wake up "siad a gental voice he instantly relized it as Umi"yes Umi"siad Moe yawned sleepy "why were crying out so loud ?you woke me up"stretched Umi  lazily "I know where we must go"said Moe ,Umi smiled. 

Feather gathered next to the others just before the sun came up ,his muscals were stiff from laying on the cold silver cave floor but he did not complain.

"Moe has had a dream that told us where to go"purred Umi "It said that a star of hope would show where to go, and in his dream it fell behind the mountain "Moe stepped forward his eyes nervously darting back and forth "this is where must go to battle darkness......whatever it is for we are the first but not last hope for our planet".

"Then it is settled we shall head farther than any before us to find darkness and Moe will lead the way"barked Feather boldly.

Later that afternoon the groop headed north after they had prepared scarfs,water and herbs for the long treck to the unone .

Shock was very nervous his tail twitching with buzzes of electricity ,he wondered about his she was most likely wondering what happend to him it was not usual for a kit to run of in the night without notice.

He shook the thought away this is what he was ment to do to prove that he was the bravest electric kute to set a paw out of the forest his home..

A cold gust of wind weeved through his fur making him shiver ,all the others were far ahead leaving him and his short stubby legs behind ,he felt a soft nudge on his flank and turned around.                                                                                                                                                                          Leaf was behind him his eyes a deep fern green"come on we can catch up to them !"encouraged the young leaf kute"I cant my legs are sore from running so long,then Shock felt teeth bite into his scruff  and then lift him a foot off the ground,Shock hissed and spat yelping "put me down"Leaf began to run quickly catching up to the others and then dropping him"thanks I guess"growled Shock mad at himself for  being picked up like a new born kit.

As  they pressed farther and farther away from the forest  it got more chilly the ground was covered in white frozen rain ,Shock heard chuckling beside him"what are you laffing at!"he growled stretching one eye wide and squinting his other eye"sorry it is just so funny how when you pick up your foot you shack it!"chuckled Chu  with a grin on his face.

With a big snort Shock ran ahead with his tiny feet leaping through the snow he hated snow he hated it !                                                                     One it was cold, and  two it  was so deep that only his yellow and blue ears stuck out from the white.

Shock did not watch where he was going and before he realized it he slipped and tumbled down hill landing in a large pile of snow.

wet and cold  Shock crawled out so mad sparks rippled off his back .

 high pitch barks of laffs  sounded from the top of the hill as Feather glided down with his giant wings."stop sparking."said feather ,then he bit into shocks scruff and flew to the others.

Shock was so mad now ! twice he had been picked up by his scruff!

Leaf came up to him and licked the hair on his head the wrong way "silly kit!" leaf said laffing"you best be quite "growled Shock  "before I shock you!"waves rippling through his fur"you wanna bet!"challenged leaf vines shooting and whipping around him.

"oh its on furrball!"smirked Shock just before he playfully shot sparks at Leaf .Leaf dodged blocking the sparks with a shield of  bright green vines.Shock closed his eyes and shot a wave of electricity at Leaf but again he did a roll and made a shield of vines "ready to give up furrball!" Leaf mocked .

"Young  kutes and their play battles ! how can they have so much energy!"said Moe shacking his head "we shouldn't be goofing off we need to get moveing!"growled Feather "here I will take care of it" said Umi hurtling a stream of water at the two play battling kutes "what the heck was that for!"yipped Shock his furr drenched with water "we need to get moveing!"said Umi "well you didnt have to spray us!".

 "Here stop complaining !"said Moe rubbing up against Leaf and Shock as embers dried the wet fur "you two look like a pair of wolfia haveing a bad hair day!"cackled Midnight, this was the first time the shy night kute had spoke sense silver ,Shock looked at his now warm dried fur it was all frizzy puffing out like a fuzzball "this day keeps getting better and better!" smiled Leaf ,Shock rolled his eyes angerally.

The groupe had been traveling all day snow brushed and whistled in their faces stinging their eyes.

Feather pushed on silently his fur had small snow flakes everywhere makeing him numb to the cold "my leggs are stiff !"complained Shock in a whiny voice .

"We all are cold .." hushed Leaf , it looked like the two were becoming friends .memeries filled his mind of Star and him as kits playing in a field ,he remembered Stars mom his adoptive mom keeping a close eye on them for some reason.

'Feather?" a voice startled him  , it was Midnight"yes" replied Feather"are you okay  ?" said Midnight a worried glance on her face , this was the first time he had studied her face ,she had big light green eyes and soft grayish brown fur that shined with every ray of light and batea wings much diffrent from his soft downy white feathers.

Midnight smiled and gave him a lick on the nose " i am glad your alright " she whispered before jumping in the air and flying about thirty five feet above every one " oh stop looking at her like a twiterpated Spara!" pushed Star "come on the others are far ahead!"

Anger welled inside Star ,Feather had never looked at her like that and they had been friends almost all their life!

Star remembered the day that she met feather , it was a rainy day and Stars mother Twilight was in the den Star had been very board and was staring out into a river when she saw a log float bye with a small white puffy patch of fur caught on it "mom what is that ?"she said "I am not sure..... stay here"firmly said Stars mother ,Star watched her mother carefully came up to the log and then a shocked expression spread across her face .

Stars mom ran inside carrying the drenched furball ,then she shook water off her pelt "you poor little thing " cried her mom "what happend to him" Star said ,she saw now it was a small white kute with the biggest  wings she had ever seen " is he sleeping?"said star .

Then the little kute opened his eyes slightly and looked around very confused  " hi who are you ?" squiked Star , he only cocked his head shyly "he is to young to speak " said her mother "he must have been playing on the bank and fell in"Stars mother shook her head " can we keep him here?" questioned Star " when it stops with this terrible rain we will find his mother , she must be haveing a terrible fit!"

Later the next evening the rain stopped , stars mom searched the whole forest for any kutes who had lost a kit but the only thing she herd was that a female Angel kute had disappeared when searching for food.                                                                                                                                         So Feather stayed with them and when he was able to speak star and him became best friends.

"Why do i feel the way i do when midnights around "she thought to herself , then suddenly it hit her ......"did that feeling mean love?"

Chi's stomach growled making him remember that he had not eaten in hours " i am so hungry ." he wined "stop complaining !" snapped Chi, she hadn't eaten either but she was very cranky .

"Are you hungery!" said Umi holding something in her fangs "yah I am !" excitedly yiped Chu his stomach growled again like agreeing with him "here sushie!"said Umi as she dropped a squid looking thing on the ground , Chu poked it with his paw ...it wiggled and squirted a green liquid " um no thanks....i don't feel hungry " said Chu with a discusted face  "more for me " shrugged Umi gulping down the squid still wiggleing.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Chu ran up to Chi almost barfing "whats wrong with you!"growled Chi " you don't want to know " said Chu .

Something wet hit his head " what" barked Chu when a rain drop hit his nose "aw not rain" moaned  Shock "at least we got out of that retched snow!" Leaf scolded "I think we need to find a place to stay for the night " said Moe yawning "yes it is going to get dark soon " sighed Star she looked so depressed " look at that big willow " said Midnight

When Chu looked he saw a gaint willow tree perfect for getting out of the stupid rain "lets rest here for the night"said Moe running under the tree "i dont know why your complaining!"smiled Umi enjoying the rain "easy for you to say water kute !" Star growled her fur soaked .

Chu lafffed running under the tree next to Chi and began grooming himself "what the?"said Chi looking up "what is it?" questioned Chu looking in the same direction ,he saw Shock crawling up the willow towards a bee hive .

"This was Crazy that stupid kit is going to kill himself !" yowled Leaf scared for his new friend, "don't worry  "calmed Midnight  "look Feather is already flying up towards him"!

Feathers fur streamed with wind as he flew upward.

"Shock what are you doing!" Feather scolded flapping his wings still to keep him from falling downward   " getting dinner , i am starved!" yiped Shock  "well do you want to be dead!"Crystal shouted from far below.                                                                                                                                      At that exact moment Shock grabbed the hive soft honey dripped from the comb and bees buzzed angerally .

"Shock be careful!"echoed Leafs voice.

yoowwwch"hissed Shock as the bees stung his eyes"hold still your going to f-"gasped Feather as  Shock backed out of the tree and began tumbleing downward.

Feathers heart began to face as he dive bombed towards the falling kit as it whimperd.

Then when  he least expected it a blackish flash swooped under Shock .

Feather watched in admirence at Midnight who landed with shock on her back.

Her fur shined and blew in the wind as she licked Shock still carrying the comb.

He paded up to Shock"you could of been killed..."growled Feather "we need you for whatever lies ahead,you almost ruined that over honey!"he hissed " Its not just honey its dinner!" Shock smiled licking the honey from the sides of his mouth.

"Foolish kit!" Feather growled turning and walking over to midnight ,Shock shrugged "here want some honey anyone ?" .

Crystal watched as Moe padded up to Feather who was clearly upset about their mission almost being ruined , she knew why to ..they had been chosen by the planet through their dreams.

This was something that had never happend before so she was certain it ment danger.

Crystal strained her hearing trying to listen to Moe and Feathers conversation,"I new that kit would be trouble!"sighed Feather "well kits are kits .......we will have to keep a closer eye on him."cocked Moe looking upset and amused "I am afraid that dangers thatare lying ahead are to much..."breathed Feather looking at the sky.

She discided to stop ,listening to them made every thing sound hopeless.

Something cuaght her eye as she looked towards the others , she saw Umi licking Shock on top of his head and leaf laffing but that wasnt it something warned her that in the bush next to them there was danger.

Mist hissed as a dark shadow passed behind her .

She looked over and saw Crystal charge into the bush a few feet away from her ,something in her instincts told her great danger had found them.

She jumped as Crystal came out of the bush with some creature whimpering and murmering, she and the others walked over to get a closer look.

A  guardian was there in the dirt its fur plastered in blood and black goo that sent fear into her whole body because this was darkness, the darkness that shook her when she dreamed.

She studied it more urgently whatever had done this was still close .

The half of the body with the darkness was a horror ,its eye that should have been green like the the other eye was red not any red ,bloodshot red.

"What could have done this.....it has always been peaceful here...."gocked Moe "darkness is here"it moaned over and over again"it was darkness whatever it is"Mist said solumly. 

"STEP BACK!"yelped Shock wildly,everyone backed away as the goo on the creature began to spread over its body like a infected wound "NO NO NO!"the guardian screamed .

Its body convulsed as it screamed and the black darkness spread more and more until it was purely black.

Mists eyes grew large she had never seen anything like this before.

The guardian rose slowly its eyes closed.

Everyone was hushed staring at the frightful event happening before them.

"it is no use to try to stop darkness"the guardian spoke opening its blood red eyes.

She could not believe this......it had to be a dream.

What do you want" hissed feather staring into its eyes "your bodies and your planet "the guardian chuckled in a creepy evil way.

Why !tell us!"demanded Chi "no more of this foolishness ,its time for you to die now either hard or easy"it said smiling.

Feather jumped into the clouded air ,then swooped unsheathing his claws and scored a gash on the guardians head.

The guardian grinned wide for the gash that had been red with blood was now healed.

Everyone froze eyes wide staring at the unbelievable thing that had happend right in front of them.

Feather stepped forward panting ,blood dripped from his sholder "had enough !?"the creature grinned .

He looked up and jumped on top of the creature nocking it down with tramendous force gripping his claws into its throat "leave us in peace or die"Feather hissed"no!you fool even if you finish me off there are still more  under the command of karayami" It weezed before feather clawed its throat.

It coffed and sputtered before the black goo disappeared and the guardian returned to normal giving them a confused gaze before running into the brush.

"That was..........freaky yet  awesome "Chu heard Shock say"the way you used your flying abilities !"

"stupid kit ....."feather mumbled before Moe began to speak "everyone here has been chosen for one reason or another by our planet....the place we call home is crying out for help , this darkness and its supposed leader karayami is evil, a polutent to our planet" Moe who was looking solumly looking at his feet look up with a glaze over his eyes before continueing" this has always been a planet of peace ever since our kind came here from a diffrent world...........we must now go against everything I've always believed in, we have to fight an enemie that I fear is far greater than we can handle".

Umi walked up to Moe licking his ear for comfort before peering through the small group of kutes who were hungry ,wet from the rain and tired ,especially Midnight who was keen to staying awake at night not the day .

"We  need to head for shelter 'Crystal quitly said "before it starts pouring".

Feather noded gently nudging Moe towards the tree "arn't you coming "asked Mist "no , I'm fine I perfer wetness it reminds me of the river I lived in...".

A smile spread across her face " you mean the one you rescued me from when I fell in!"she saw Mist lick her paws embaressed "well I"ll see you in the morning ,goodnight."

The wet grass and droplets of rain felt good in her fur and on her scales and then she fell asleep.

Umi opened her eyes and found herself on colorless grey ground and mist that fogged her eyes "shhhh....hush .......come."said a voice from behind her , she sharply turned around .

Who and where are you!"she screamed panic rushing through her.
